FORMER MAZARS partner Gary Oliver has been recruited by Moore Stephens as partner in audit and risk division.
Oliver, who was previously at Mazars for about two years, began his career in audit in Deloitte where he spent five years, latterly as audit senior manager. He has also worked as risk management and compliance director at insurance business Ark Syndicate Management, group head of internal audit at insurance underwriters Wellington Underwriting.
Oliver will concentrate on internal audit, risk management, corporate governance, compliance and regulation in his new role at Moore Stephens.
Simon Gallagher, head of Moore Stephens' insurance practice, said: "We are seeing substantial demand for our services and expertise, which we foresee continuing as the regulatory regime tightens, [and] are actively developing our internal audit portfolio, providing not only both co-sourced and outsourced support, but also delivering individual assignments such as governance strategies, compliance gap analyses, board effectiveness reviews and data quality audits."
