MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY Charteris has announced that finance director Patrick Carter is to resign.

Carter, who will leave the board on 30 November to take up a finance director role within the renewable energy sector, joined the company in May 2007 as FD.

Julie Merry, a chartered accountant who trained with PwC, will take over the finance director's responsibilities. She will be appointed company secretary but will not be a director of the company.

Merry has held a number of finance roles, most recently as finance director of Zircadian, a provider of software and consultancy services to the NHS.
