THE OWNERS of fashion retailer Superdry have appointed a former senior Deloitte audit partner as a non-executive director.
Minnow Powell joins Supergroup as a non-executive director. Powell spent 25 years at Deloitte where he looked after its major clients, and spent a six-year stint as a member of the UK Audit Practices Board.
He is also a non-executive director of TUI Travel, where he chairs the audit committee. Powell will also chair Supergroup's audit committee.
Kingfisher group COO Euan Sutherland also joins the board as a non-executive. Current non-executives Steven Glew and Indira Thambiah will step down at the end of their three-year term in February.
It has been a tough year for Supergroup, and the retailer is looking to get things back on track. Supergroup had well-documented problems with its distribution lines, and, more embarrassingly, revealed a £2.5m black hole in its accounts due to the insertion of a ‘plus' rather than a ‘minus' into its figures.
