Ex-Woolworths FD takes non-exec role at Snoozebox

Stephen East becomes audit committee chair at international temporary accommodation business Snoozebox

FORMER WOOLWORTHS finance director Stephen East has taken a non-executive role at international temporary sleeping accommodation business Snoozebox.

East joins as audit committee chairman. From 2005 to 2008, he was finance director of Woolworth Group, which owned the now-collapsed Woolworths retail chain. He has also been FD of commercial property company MEPC.

Currently, he is non-executive director at investment businesses Marwyn Management Partners and CQS Diversified Fund, as well as sitting on the board of Genesis Housing Association. He has served as non-executive at workspace provider Regus and at Star Energy.

He is joined by Hugh Scrimgeous, who is a former chief financial officer of holiday business Princess Cruises. He has also served as chairman and managing director of Earls Court and Olympia.

Scrimgeous is a senior independent director of international exhibition organiser Tarsus Group, which has put on events such as the Dubai Air Show and also produces online media.

David Morrison, chairman of Snoozebox, said: "We are delighted that Stephen and Hugh are joining the board of Snoozebox. They bring relevant expertise and experience and I am confident that they will make a valuable contribution to the company in what promises to be a period of considerable growth and development."
