Jonathan Riley to take over from Francesca Lagerberg as UK tax head

JONATHAN RILEY  is to take over from Francesca Lagerberg as Grant Thornton’s UK head of tax.

Riley has served as a GT partner since 1997, and is currently practice leader for Yorkshire. Lagerberg is moving into the global tax head role within Grant Thornton International.

Starting his career as a tax inspector, he was then seconded to the DTI as tax policy advisor to the president of the board of trade. His 20-year career has seen him serve high-net worth individuals and corporates across sectors.

Paul Etherington, quality & professional standards ‘lead’ on the firm’s national leadership board, said: “Jonathan has a strong track record in delivering high-quality services and has led the expansion of our Yorkshire business which has grown by almost 60% over the last few years.

“I am confident he will continue to develop the practice that has evolved so well under Fransesca’s care. Grant Thornton’s tax team is a key strength for the firm and provides a valuable contribution to the tax industry as a whole.”
