KPMG partner joins royal household

A partner at KPMG, Leslie Ferrar, has been appointed treasurer to the Prince of Wales.

She will join the royal household on 24 January 2005, and will be will be responsible for overseeing finance, personnel, information technology, charitable commercial activities, and archives and records management.

She succeeds Kevin Knott, who was appointed master of The Prince of Wales's Household in September.

Ferrar said of her move: 'I am very pleased to accept this appointment, it is a tremendously exciting opportunity. I have enjoyed my career at KPMG immensely, and I believe many of my skills will be valuable in my new role.'

Ferrar, 49, is currently working in KPMG's tax practice in London.
