Championship side Cardiff City, which is hoping to build a new football stadium in Leckwith, has had its business plan assessed by football experts from mid-tier firm Grant Thornton.
The club had the business plan assessed by the firm before submitting it to the Cardiff Council.
The club is now confident the proposed 30,000-capacity stadium will get the go-ahead from city councillors after Cardiff council chief executive Byron Davies confirmed he planned to bring a report on the viability of the Leckwith development to meetings in May.
'We are to continue to examine whether the business plan is viable and I'm very much encouraged at the progress being made,' said Davies.
The club has until 31 May to prove the viability of the scheme.
