Shropshire accountant stole £60,000

Darren Snookes, 35, from Calder Close in Muxton, Shropshire has been jailed for 12 months after stealing £60,000 from a meat company, which he used in part to pay for expensive cars.

He pled guilty in Shrewsbury Crown Court to four charges of falsifying invoices at ABP Meats, a company based in Ellesmre.

The money was then paid into his account and he used £39,000 to buy expensive cars for himself and his wife, the BBC reported.

Snookes told the court he had repaid the money in full.

In passing sentence, Judge Robin Onions said Snookes was motivated by greed.
