Why not just run a teeny Budget rather than the full-blown-affair? says BDO's Stephen Herring

A Budget before the next General Election is pointless and should be scrapped, according to advisers.

With March the most likely time for a Budget, enacting any of its rules would fall into the next parliament.

BDO's Stephen Herring told the Daily Mail that chancellor Alistair Darling would only need to introduce an abbreviated Finance Bill.
