The problems of negotiating with the hoary-headed monster that is the Inland Revenue may distract the attention of FDs from the opportunities available to introduce more technology into their tax departments. Hence a specialist consultancy called Tax Automation is conducting a survey primarily aimed at tax managers and department heads at FTSE-350 companies to discover the extent to which software is used in systems and processes.
