Auditor independence call

Internal audit heads want more independence from external auditors, according to a survey by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

The respondents would also like a ban or more control on external auditors providing consulting work. Nearly two-thirds of the 62 heads questioned expressed concern about auditor independence.
