THE WEIR Group has appointed Alan Ferguson to the board as a non-executive director, with effect. He will take over from Stephen King as chairman of the audit committee in May 2012, when King retires from the board.
Ferguson was until recently chief financial officer of Lonmin, the FTSE 100 producer of platinum and metals. He currently chairs the audit committees of Johnson Matthey, the FTSE 100 precious metals and chemicals company and Croda, the FTSE 250 chemicals company.
