INTERNATIONAL GENETICS business BioScience has announced that Robert Bakewell, finance director, will join the board with immediate effect.
Bakewell, who joined BioScience in 2005 and has been FD of the group in a non-board capacity since 2011, is credited with converting the company IFRS and consolidated the finance function.
He qualified as a chartered management accountant in 1996 and has over ten years of regulatory compliance and corporate activity experience for listed companies.
Laurie Turnbull, chairman, said Bakewell's "appointment will strengthen the range of financial and regulatory expertise available to the board."
Non-executive director Robin Slinger is stepping down from the board after eight years with the group.
