BAKERY CHAIN Greggs has appointed Allison Kirkby, chief financial officer of media production company Shine Group as a non-executive director with effect from 30 January.
The board intends that Kirkby will take over the chair of the audit committee following the annual general meeting.
Kirkby, Shine Group CFO since September 2011, previously served as Virgin Media's executive director of finance operations and transformation, and before that spent two decades with Procter & Gamble in a variety of senior financial and operational roles.
She is also a trustee and chair of the finance committee of In Kind Direct, one of The Prince's Charities, and is a fellow of CIMA.
Greggs' chairman, Derek Netherton, said: "[Kirkby] will bring additional financial expertise and experience, and her background in consumer brand businesses and media organisations will be of great value in the next phase of the development of our brand."
