Cairn's Brown takes audit role at Wood Group

Cairn Energy CFO Jann Brown takes audit committee chairwoman role at Wood Group

CAIRN ENERGY CFO Jann Brown will join multinational oil and gas company Wood Group as its audit committee chairwoman.

Brown joined Cairn in 1998, was named CFO in 2006 and is also MD. She is president-elect of ICAS.

Her appointment, from 15 May, comes amid a reshuffle on Wood’s board, with Ian Marchant taking over from Allister Langlands as chairman. David Woodward succeeds Marchant as senior independent non-executive director.

Marchant said: “I am delighted to welcome Jann to the board. Her extensive experience of the international oil & gas industry and her finance expertise will further strengthen the board and the audit committee, which she will chair following her appointment.”

Brown also holds a non-executive role at Troy Income & Growth Fund. She was previously a non-exec at Hansen Industrial Transmissions and of Cairn India Limited.

Brown is one of the most prominent female FDs in the UK. She spoke out against the level of aid provided by auditors during corporates’ transition to IFRS.
