Capquest chief executive Helen Ashton to take up ASOS CFO role

The former FD at Lloyds Banking Group and managing director at Barclaycard International, will take up the new post on 01 September

ASOS, the online fashion company, has appointed Helen Ashton as its new group chief financial officer.

Ashton, currently chief executive of debt management business Capquest will take up the new post on 1 September. She succeeds Nick Beighton in the role, who becomes group chief operating officer.

The former FD at Lloyds Banking Group and managing director at Barclaycard International, has also held roles at supermarket giant ASDA and at retailing group, GUS.

Nick Robertson, ASOS group CEO, said: “Helen brings an unusual combination of deep financial experience, combined with her track record in consumer facing and retail businesses. Helen has also been involved in significant change management situations and has demonstrated great leadership capability. This appointment also frees up Nick Beighton to focus completely on his operational responsibilities”.

Ashton said: “My time in financial services has been a great experience, but the role at ASOS fits perfectly with what I want to do now, enabling me to build on my passion for consumer facing businesses and retail specifically”.
