Startup Dualcor showed a tiny and very interesting Tablet at CES called the cPc which shows what can be done with fast frugal processors like the new Yonahs. Except that the device running Windows XP Tablet PC edition is reported to use a 1.5GHz Via processor instead.
Remarkably it has a second processor, an Intel PXA, and a second operating sytem, Windows Mobile 5, which gives it the functions of a mobile phone even when XP is not running.
This means it can run for 'hundreds of hours' without charge in standby mode and up to eight hours used as a phone, when it can do tasks like receive email or run smartphone office applets. It is said to run up to four hours on standard laptop tasks.
Dualcor calls it a ‘handtop’ and it is a little bigger than a PDA at 6.5 x 3.3 x 1.2in, with a 5in 800 x 480 touchscreen. It will be available shortly in the US for about $1,500 (£870 ex VAT).
At WinHec last year, Bill Gates showed a 7in concept Tablet PC that some
believe points the way to the mainstream platform of the future.
Pepper launched an improved version of its

Pad at CES.
