Senior FD leaves for defence technology rival Cobham

Simon Nicholls joins Cobham with effect from 1 May 2013 after completing ten years of service with Senior

DEFENCE TECHNOLOGY GROUP Cobham has recruited new chief financial officer Simon Nicholls from rival components maker Senior.

Nicholls, who joins Cobham with effect from 1 May 2013, replaces Warren Tucker who stands down after completing ten years of service.

During his time at Senior, Nicholls is credited with playing an important role in the strategic evolution and growth of the business including the acquisition of four companies.

He also helped drive improved cash conversion through increased balance sheet efficiency and the management of working capital, and completed refinancings via US private placements and bank syndicated revolving credit facilities, Cobham said.

Previously, Nicholls was CFO of Hanson North America, based in the US where he took a leading role in the acquisition of some 35 companies. Prior to that he was financial controller of Hanson for three years.

Nicholls spent nine years with Price Waterhouse in the UK and Canada, and four years working in senior financial positions.

Senior’s share price dropped 0.26%, while Cobham’s share price was unchanged in early morning trading,
