Darty FD to leave after Paris HQ move

Dominic Platt to leave retailer Darty after helping move support functions to Paris, from London

A NEW FD will take on the role at retailer Darty, as it plans to move remaining central support functions to Paris from London.

Dominic Platt, who has served as FD since 2013, will serve until September 2015 to oversee the Paris move and allow an orderly handover to his successor.

Platt joined the business in 2010, joining as Kesa Electricals (the former name for Darty) FD. He served as Darty’s acting chief executive from January to April 2013, during a major restructuring programme that saw non-core disposals, new board members and the introduction of a growth plan.

A search for his successor has commenced, led by the group’s chairman Alan Parker.

Parker said: “Dominic has made a tremendous contribution since he joined the company nearly five years ago. Darty is now a completely different business to the one that Dominic joined – Dominic’s knowledge and experience have proved invaluable through what has been a period of great change and he has played a key role in developing and implementing the clear strategy we now have to grow profitably. We wish him well in the future.”
