Lenovo has announced a new line of business desktops, claimed to be among the most cost-effective and eco-friendly models ever.
Available from October, the ThinkCentre A62 brand is based on AMD Business Class processor technology and is compliant with the Dash 1.1 management standards defined by the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF).
The new models meet a number of environmental certifications, including Greenguard and EPEAT Gold, plus the stringent Energy Star 4.0 ratings. The ThinkCentre A62 also consumes 40 per cent less energy than its predecessors, according to Lenovo, thanks to AMD's 15W Athlon 2650e processor.
For business customers, Lenovo has also promised a 15 month stability period for the new desktop models.
“The new ThinkCentre A62 was built to provide business customers with longer PC buying cycles. It combines top-notch performance, manageability and environmental responsibility in a high value machine,” said Dilip Bhatia executive director for global desktop marketing.
Pricing for the ThinkCentre A62 starts at £360. Lenovo is also making available a ThinkVision L197w monitor that matches the environmental specifications of the system at £135.
