Appointment at Barclays.

Long-suffering Oliver Stocken has once again been thwarted in his attempt to retire from Barclays. Stocken was originally due to leave the rudderless bank in December. He agreed to stay on until April when incoming chief executive Michael O’Neill was due to start. However, in a well publicised retreat, O’Neill is unable to take up the position due to ill health. Stocken remains at Barclays until further notice in order to retain a modicum of stability at the bank.
