FD excellence recognised

Financial Director and Accountancy Age want to hear about excellent FDs who deserve recognition from their peers and the public.

Every year, through their intuition, talent and sheer hard work, individuals and organisations in the finance and accountancy professions make remarkable achievements.

Financial Director, in association with sister publication Accountancy Age, wants to ensure these people and businesses have their achievements recognised.

After the success of last year’s event, we are delighted to announce the 2000 Accountancy Age Awards for Excellence, which will be hosted at London’s Natural History Museum on 1 November and are now open for entries.

Last year, Orange FD Graham Howe took the honours in the Finance Director of the Year award, sponsored by Financial Director and FSS Financial, following his role in the phenomenal success of the mobile telecoms provider.

A founding director, Howe joined Orange in 1992 and with CEO Hans Snook was judged to have been responsible for charting the company’s strategic course and engineering phenomenal growth. His biggest success was his stewardship of the £730m flotation of Orange in 1996.

We will once again be calling on the expertise and knowledge of a select panel of judges from business and practice to judge the categories.
