Insight - Summertime summit on the agenda

The first-ever Financial Director Summit takes place in June 2005, hosted and organised by VNU Exhibitions Europe, a sister company to the publishers of the award-winning Financial Director magazine.

The Financial Director Summit will provide a high-level opportunity for FDs to listen to leading experts in subjects ranging from IFRS to China, as well as the chance to network with fellow FDs from medium- and large-size companies.

“It’s no surprise that subjects such as Sarbanes-Oxley and IFRS feature in the agenda we have lined up,” says Financial Director editor Andrew Sawers, who is chairing the event. “But best practice is still evolving in these areas, so there is no shortage of things to talk about in the speaker sessions or the panel debates.”

Deriving value out of mergers and acquisitions is another important issue to be addressed at the Financial Director Summit, while an evening keynote speech will from Andrew Halper of the China-Britain Business Council will look at how to avoid the pitfalls of doing business in the world’s fastest-growing major economy. The chance to play nine holes of golf on the championship course is an added attraction.

– The Financial Director Summit, sponsored by Geac, takes place at The Grove, Herts, 15-16 June 2005. For details, go to www.financialdirector.co.uk/summit or see the advertisement on page 53.
