JJB Sports' FD announces resignation
FD walks away after turning company's finances around
The finance director of JJB Sports has declared his intention to step down
from the board, less than a year and a half after joining the retailer.
Lawrence Coppock told the JJB board he feels the role he was initially
recruited to perform was substantially completed.
Coppock, who replaced David Madeley in May 2009, was brought in to pull the
company from the brink of insolvency and to stabalise its financial position.
He feels he has completed this task and “now is the appropriate opportunity
for the board to find a finance director who can grow with the company over
time.”
His exact departure date has not been set.
