Mark Gold crowned ACCA president

Mark Gold of Accountancy Age Award-winning firm Silver Levene, officially elected president of ACCA at the institute's AGM on 16 September

Mark Gold, a senior partner at Silver Levene has been elected president of
ACCA.

He was officially elected president of ACCA at the institute’s AGM on 16
September.

Gold said: “I am extremely proud to have become president of ACCA. I am
passionate about the ACCA qualification and the way in which it can provide
outstanding opportunities for people around the world.

“I am very excited about the opportunities to represent this great
organisation in the year ahead.”

Dean Westcott, finance director with NHS West Essex, was elected the
institute’s deputy president.

Professor of accounting at Melbourne’s Deakin University, Barry J Cooper, has
been elected as vice president of ACCA.

Silver Levene won the
Accountancy Age Award for
Medium Firm of the Year in 2007.
