Lonmin CFO hands over reins as board shifts to South Africa

Simon Scott takes control of Lonmin's finances

(Accountancy Age) Lonmin’s CFO has handed over his responsibilities to a South African-based successor as the mining giant shifts its management team out of London.

Alan Ferguson passes on control of Lonmin’s finances to Simon Scott with effect from the close of business today, the company said in a statement to the City.

Ferguson will remain as an executive director of the company until his employment ends on 31 December 2010.

“This is one of the last steps in the transition of Lonmin’s operational management from London to South Africa, which has progressed smoothly and in line with our expectations,” Lonmin added.
