FRC makes Glen Moreno deputy chairman

The chairman of international media group Pearson, Glen Moreno, has been revealed as the deputy chairman of the UK’s financial watchdog

THE UK’S financial watchdog has made the chairman of media company Pearson its new deputy chairman.

Glen Moreno’s appointment at the Financial Reporting Council was revealed by business secretary Vince Cable yesterday (18 November). He has been chairman of Pearson, which owns the Financial Times and book publisher Penguin, since October 2005 and was made a senior independent director at Lloyds Banking Group in February this year. Alongside this he is a director and audit committee chairman at Fidelity International, a director of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and a governor of the Ditchley foundation.

FRC chairman Baroness Hogg said: ‘His knowledge of market regulation and international business practice spanning the US, continental Europe and South East Asia will be of enormous value to us.’
