Former Debenhams FD to head RAC

The move reunites Chris Woodhouse with RAC chairman and former chief executive Rob Templeman.

CHRIS Woodhouse, the former finance director of Debenhams, has been recruited by private equity firm Carlyle Group to run RAC, the roadside assistance business it bought from Aviva for £1bn last year.

The move reunites Woodhouse with RAC chairman and former chief executive Rob Templeman.

The pair are well respected within the private equity industry and worked together on the buy-out and float of Debenhams.

“[RAC] is a fantastic business. A fantastic brand. It is the premier motoring brand in the UK which has been around for over 100 years and has huge strength in depth,” said Woodhouse, the Telegraph reported.
