Whitbread FD takes control of Costa Coffee

Christopher Rogers moves across to Costa following departure of MD John Derkach

THE EXPERIENCED finance director of Whitbread is to take over as managing director of the group’s Cost Coffee business as part of a management reshuffle.

Christopher Rogers, who joined Whitbread as group FD in 2005, steps into the post following the departure of John Derkach to restaurant company Tragus Group as chief executive.

Rogers will head up Costa’s global business to drive forward its five year growth plan to increase the size of the business to 3,500 stores worldwide, £1.3bn system sales and 3,000 Costa Express machines by 2016, the company said.

Derkach will remain managing director of Costa until he leaves on 1 August 2012.
