RSM Tenon to lose members of film and media team to Saffery's

Staff from the film and media arm at RSM Tenon are understood to be moving to Saffery Champness

MEMBERS OF RSM TENON’S specialist film and media unit are leaving to join top 20 competitor Saffery Champness, Accountancy Age understands.

Some 11 members of staff will join Saffery Champness where they will be reunited with RSM Tenon’s former head of media Julian Hedley, who is now partner at Saffery Champness.

Both firms declined to comment on the matter.

Hedley joined Saffery Champness, where he advises commercial clients and individuals in the media and entertainment industry, from RSM Tenon in 2011.

The film and media arm is one of RSM Tenon’s key service lines, providing advisory services on tax and compliance as well as audit services for blockbusters including The King’s Speech, The Dark Knight, Love Actually and Casino Royale, among others.

It also acts for television companies and individuals working both in front and behind the camera.

Listed firm RSM Tenon restated its accounts earlier this year after errors were discovered, which saw the firm report a drop in revenue of 9% to £107.8m and overall profit fall to £683,000 from £7.5m.

The problems at RSM Tenon led to the departure of chief executive Andy Raynor – who was replaced by Chris Merry – and chairman Bob Morton.
