1. Rise early or work late?
Work Late. I hate mornings.

On the job. I think you learn more from experience than formal training and
working with mentors. Things don’t always work the same in practise as they
do in books.

3. What is your management style?
Relaxed, trusting. I trust the people who work for me to get on with their
jobs. I try to build mutual respect so that people work hard.

4. Does delegation come easy?
Definitely. If I can delegate it I will. Delegation and training help the
people that work for me progress in their careers.

At work it is most definitely a team effort and the support I get from my
family enables me to focus on my career.

6. Boardroom or restaurant?
There is a place for both.

7. What technology would you never be without?
My iphone and ipad.

8. Are you an FD for life?
Who knows. Being an FD has given me an awareness of several businesses over
the years so having acquired business skills along with the FD skills I
could apply these to any opportunity that arises.

9. What keeps you awake at night?
Apart from my husband’s snoring, very little as I like to keep work issues
at work, however there are occasions where the solution to a problem might
well turn up in the middle of the night.

10. Your critical advice to would be FDs?
Build a good team around you, be organised, understand the whole
business, not just the financial aspect. Be approachable.
