Babcock promotes financial controller to CFO

THE FINANCIAL CONTROLLER of Babcock International Group is to replace group finance director Bill Tame who has been appointed as chief executive of the engineering group’s enlarged international division.

Tame, who has served as group FD since 2002, will take over responsibility for the South African operations and the recently acquired Avincis Group, as well as the group’s business development activities in the Middle East.

Franco Martinelli has been Babcock’s financial controller and worked alongside Tame for the past 12 years.

“Bill will provide strong leadership for the International division. Franco has a depth of knowledge of the financial management of the Group and will provide continuity and effective management across all areas of the Group’s finance function,” said Babcock chairman Mike Turner.
