USS hires Halliday as chief financial officer

Former Quaker Chemical Corporation global FD joins Universities Superannuation Scheme as CFO

UNIVERSITIES SUPERANNUATION SCHEME (USS) has appointed Jennifer Halliday as chief financial officer, sister title Professional Pensions reports.

Halliday (pictured) will take up the role from Monday 6 October, replacing David Webster who stepped down on 31 August 2014. She will manage a team of 16 people.

Halliday joins the scheme from Quaker Chemical Corporation where she held the position of global finance director with responsibility for 80 finance professionals in 15 countries.

Commenting on Halliday’s appointment, USS chief executive Bill Galvin said: “Jennifer is a great addition to the senior team at USS; she has substantial, multinational experience in asset management and other sectors, and a proven ability to drive performance which will help USS to continue to provide both institutions and members with a responsive, secure pension service, and deliver excellent value for money.”

Halliday said of her new position: “I am delighted to be joining the team at USS. It is clear to me that there is a real willingness to strive to deliver the best possible service to both members and institutions and I am looking forward to contributing to that by leading a first class finance function.”
