MINING BUSINESS Sirius has announced the appointment of Rachel Rhodes as CFO.
Rhodes boasts more than fifteen years’ experience in the mining sector, with stints at Anglo-American and London Mining – where she was CFO for five years – to her name.
She is a member of the ICAEW, having qualified with Coopers and Lybrand in 1997 and is a non-executive director and audit committee chairwoman of Anglo Pacific Group.
Sirius managing director and CEO Chris Fraser said: “We are excited to have secured a CFO of the calibre of Rachel and she complements our existing team extremely well.
Rachel is bringing a wealth of valuable experience and insights gained through involvement in projects and companies that have already been through the different phases that a project like York Potash is undertaking.
“We look forward to working with her during the next crucial phases of the company’s growth.”
The minerals specialist is shutting its Sydney office as it focuses on a major project to excavate potash from York. As a result, CFO Jason Murray left the business in August.
The existing finance team, based in Scarborough, is led by York Potash CFO Jackie Flynn. The group role, now filled by Rhodes, was covered by Flynn.
