Victrex brings in fromer Hanson FD

AUTOMOTIVE and aerospace polymer producer Victrex has appointed experienced accountant Andrew Dougal as an executive director, effective from 1 March 2015.

Dougal has previously served as chief executive of Hanson plc, the international building materials group, following its demerger from eponymously-named Anglo-American conglomerate Hanson, where he held a number of senior management posts before taking the FD spot.

He is a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee at Carillion and Creston. He is also a non-executive director at Premier Farnell. His previous non-executive roles include BPB, Taylor Woodrow and Taylor Wimpey.

He qualified as a chartered accountant at EY before spending nine years as chief accountant with Scottish & Universal Investments. He is a member of the council of ICAS and chairman of its Technical Policy Board.
