BHP merger with Clough propels it into Top 50

The merger coincides with the planned retirement from Clough & Company of partners Steven Gash and Nigel Westman, who will remain as consultants

BHP, Yorkshire’s largest independent firm of chartered accountants, has merged with Cleckheaton-based Clough & Company.

The deal creates a regional practice with six offices, over 270 people and revenues approaching £18m, place it firmly within the Accountancy Age Top 50+50 accounting firms in the UK.

Clough & Company’s financial services team will also joining BHP Financial Planning Limited, whilst the two firms’ corporate recovery and insolvency teams will combine within BHP Clough Corporate Solutions.

The merger coincides with the planned retirement from Clough & Company of partners Steven Gash and Nigel Westman. Both will remain as consultants.
