Uzielli touches down as new Heathrow CFO

Michael Uzielli will be tasked with ensuring Heathrow is able to "exceed financial targets and secure the investment necessary to continue to transform passenger experience"

MICHAEL UZIELLI has taken up his role as Heathrow’s new chief financial officer and will focus on “strengthening Heathrow’s reputation in international markets”.

Among Uzielli’s responsibilities will be financial and investment strategies and management, tax, insurance, treasury and investor relations. Previously British Gas FD and prior to that had he enjoyed a career spanning the investment and aviation sectors including with Schroders and British Airways.

Heathrow has successfully raised over £11 billion over the past decade to transform the airport.

The airport’s ambition remains to be one of the best in the world. Uzielli will be tasked with ensuring Heathrow is able to “exceed financial targets and secure the investment necessary to continue to transform passenger experience at the UK’s only hub airport”.

Heathrow CEO John Holland-Kaye said: “I’m delighted to welcome Michael to the Heathrow team. I’m confident his breadth of experience will help us take Heathrow from being one of the best airports in Europe to one of the best in the world.”

Uzielli takes over the Heathrow CFO role from José Leo, which was originally announced back in February.
