Yea takes non-exec and chairman role with Computacenter

Philip Yea joins Computacenter as a non-executive director and chairman

IT INFRASTRUCTURE COMPANY Computacenter has appointed Philip Yea as a non-executive director and chairman.

Yea will not only chair the remuneration committee, but also take on the role of senior independent non-executive director.

Currently a non-executive director at Vodafone and Aberdeen Asia Smaller Companies Investment Trust, Yea is also an independent non-exec chairman of online gambling company Bwin.party.

He spent six years until 2005 as group FD of Investcorp.

He serves as chairman to the board of trustees and chairman of the nominations committee at the British Heart Foundation, and is senior business adviser to the Duke of York, Prince Andrew.

According to the FTSE 250 group, he will start in his new position with immediate effect. Yea joins weeks after the company ranked second to top in a customer service study conducted by Whitelane Research.

Group chairman, Greg Lock, said of the appointment: “I am delighted that Philip is joining Computacenter.”

He added: “He brings with him significant business management experience and I look forward to him making a significant contribution to the board.”
