Halfords names Jonny Mason as CFO to replace easyJet-bound Findlay

Former Odeon CFO replaces Andrew Findlay as Halfords CFO, who left to join easyJet earlier this year

HALFORDS has ended its search for a new chief financial officer and appointed Jonny Mason to the role vacated by Andrew Findlay earlier this year.

Mason will join the retailer on 12 October from Scandi Standard, a Scandinavian chicken company. He will replace Findlay, who left the UK car repairs and cycle parts retailer for budget airline easyJet earlier this year.

Previously, Mason was CFO at Odeon and UCI Cinemas for eight years, and finance director of Sainsbury’s Supermarkets where he worked for five years. He spent his early career at Shell and Hanson.

“As a cycling and car enthusiast, I have a strong admiration for Halfords,” Mason said.

Jill McDonald, chief executive officer, commented:”I’m delighted that Jonny is joining Halfords as our new CFO. He brings significant commercial and financial experience from his time across a range of consumer and retail businesses and I look forward to working with him.”

Halfords’ finance team was awarded the Best Blue Chip Finance team of 2015 at Financial Director’s Business Finance Awards.
