Ian Dixon joins Bard's board as finance chief

A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT in the field of arts has joined Shakespeare’s Globe as chief finance and operations officer.

Ian Dixon, who currently serves as COO for the Serpentine Gallery, takes on the Globe role in Setpember. He will take over from Liz Fosbury, who leaves after seven years to take up the same role with the National Theatre. The Globe finance role was advertised in March.

Dixon spent 25 years with PwC, serving as a partner in not-for-profit, which including working relationships with the Southbank Theatre and the National Theatre.
He has recently served as FD of the National Youth Theatre.

“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Shakespeare’s Globe at such an exciting time in its history and look forward to being part of an original and unique institution,” said Dixon.

Joanna Mackle, deputy director at the British Museum, and Daniel Heaf, senior vice president, digital commerce at Burberry, join the board of trustees.

Neil Constable, chief executive, Shakespeare’s Globe, said: “All their appointments will contribute to Shakespeare’s Globe’s continued ambitious capital growth at home on Bankside and our intensive international programme – stepping up to meet demands from all four corners of the world and confirming Shakespeare’s Globe as the international voice for Shakespeare’s work.”
