UBM names CFO Robert Gray as PR Newswire CEO
UBM finance chief returns to the US to head up UBM's PR Newswire service
EVENTS organiser UBM has said chief financial officer Robert Gray will become CEO of its PR Newswire business.
Gray, who joined the communications and events business as CFO in 2009, will step down as UBM finance chief to become chief executive of its press release service on 1 August.
He replaces Ninan Chacko, who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities after six years in the role.
Tim Cobbold, chief executive of UBM, said Gray’s appointment “will provide for a seamless transition”.
“As CFO of UBM, he has deep knowledge of the PR Newswire business and its people, and has been involved in the creation of its strategy,” Cobold said.
Gray began his career at JP Morgan and subsequently worked at Deutsche Bank. He is vice chairman of the board and chairman of the audit committee of eDreams Odigeo.
