Finance function revamp sees Real Good Food FD set to leave

Real Good Food looks to devolve finance among its divisions, and move group function to London. NW-based FD Mike McDonough to leave

A RESTRUCTURING of Real Good Food’s (RGF) finance function will see its group finance director leave.

Mike McDonough, who has served at the ‘cake and bake’ business since 1989 when he joined as a management accountant and was appointed FD in 1993, will step down from the role at the end of August.

His departure comes as the business has sold its Napier Brown Sugar division. As part of that process RGF is relocating the group finance function to its London head office. It will also devolved greater financial responsibility and accountability to local finance teams based in its business units.

North-west based McDonough will leave the business following the restructuring’s completion. A decision on the appointment of a new FD will be made in the coming weeks.

RGF’s brands include cake decorations Renshaw and Rainbow Dust colours, and premium bakery Haydens.

“The board would like to thank Mike for his contribution both as finance director of Renshaw and since 2009 as Real Good Food finance director where he played an important role in the recent corporate initiatives and wishes him every success in his future career,” the board said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange.
