Merlin Entertainments conjures new CFO

Anne-Françoise Nesmes to join Merlin from FTSE 250 pharma business Dechra

MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS, the company behind Legoland, The Blackpool Tower and Madame Tussauds, has appointed Anne-Françoise Nesmes as CFO, with effect from 1 August 2016.

Nesmes has been with FTSE 250-listed pharmaceuticals business Dechra since 2013, having joined from GlaxoSmithKline.

She will succeed the retiring Andrew Carr, who will remain in place until her arrival in August.

Nesmes has also held finance roles in Caterpillar, ADP, Tetra Pak, and John Crane.

Merlin chairman Sir John Sunderland said: “We look forward to welcoming Anne-Françoise to the Board later in the year. Her extensive finance and international experience will enable her to make a significant contribution to our business as we continue to grow. On behalf of the board I would like to again thank Andrew for his dedication to Merlin during the past 16 years and building it into the successful company it is today. We wish him all the best in the future.”

Other attractions under Merlin’s auspices include Alton Towers, Warwick Castle and the Sea Life Centre.
