Duncan Magrath will replace Paul Thwaite at the end of March

ENGINEERING MAINTENANCE company Brammer has appointed former Balfour Beatty CFO Duncan Magrath as group FD.

Magrath will replace the outgoing Paul Thwaite, who is set to leave the business on 31 March.

Magrath first joined the company as a non-executive director in March 2012, taking on the role of senior independent director in May 2014 and the role of audit committee chairman in May 2015.

He served as CFO of Balfour Beatty between 2008 and 2015, having qualified as a chartered accountant at PwC before joining listed logistics business Exel where he held numerous positions in the UK and USA during his 13-year tenure.

Group chief executive Ian Fraser said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of someone of Duncan’s experience and calibre as group finance director. He brings a wealth of relevant listed corporate and financial experience and will add real value to our business and the leadership team as we focus on improving performance through the execution of the group’s operational and strategic growth drivers.”
