EX-PRUDENTIAL and Old Mutual finance chief Philip Broadley has joined financial services group Legal & General as a non-executive director as part of a planned succession process that will see him become chair of the audit committee.
At L&G he will become audit chair after a short handover period, taking over from Julia Wilson, the group finance director at 3i who became senior independent director in May.
Broadley has spent over 14 years in senior roles in insurance including as group finance director at Old Mutual and prior to that as group finance director of Prudential. He currently serves as a member of the Oxford University audit and scrutiny committee and is a member of the code committee of The Takeover Panel as well as the panel’s finance committee. Philip will also join the Nominations Committee and Risk Committee.
Rudy Markham, interim chairman, said: “Philip will be a valuable addition to the board, given his extensive insurance, financial and City experience from his time with Old Mutual and Prudential. I am delighted that he is joining us.”
