Expedia Inc. names new CFO

After Mark Okerstrom took over the CEO position, the company has now chosen his successor

After Expedia’s CFO, Mark Okerstrom, stepped into the shoes of CEO and President after Dara Khosrowshahi left to be CEO of Uber, the has now named its new CFO.

Alan Pickerill, who is currently senior vice president, treasurer and head of investor relations, will take over as CFO and executive vice president.

In his new role, Pickerill will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting and analysis, investor relations, treasury, internal audit, tax and global real estate.

Expedia’s eCommerce Platform team and its Corporate Development team will continue to report directly to Okerstrom.

Pickerill, who joined Expedia in 2008, has finance and accounting experience spanning nearly 30 years, according to the Expedia website, and began his career as an accountant at Deloitte and Touche, where he practiced for seven years before moving into senior finance leadership roles at companies including Microsoft and Getty Images.

Mr. Okerstrom will also join Expedia’s Board of Directors, and Mr. Khosrowshahi will continue to be a member of Expedia’s Board of Directors.

Dara Khosrowshahi said, “Mark has been by my side through every major milestone in this Company for much of the last 11 years and I’m passing these reins into the best hands. He is a tireless, strategic, and steadfast leader who has pushed me to be my best self while having Expedia, Inc.’s best interests front and center at every step. I am incredibly excited to watch Expedia continue to flourish with his leadership.”

Okerstrom said of the new CFO appointment: “Alan has been a critical member of the Expedia financial leadership team for nearly 10 years and during that time has established himself as a highly capable leader and financial thought partner, to not only me but also our entire executive team.
