Retirement housebuilder McCarthy & Stone has promoted its financial controller as its next group chief financial officer

RETIREMENT HOUSEBUILDER McCarthy & Stone has promoted its financial controller as its next group chief financial officer.

Rowan Baker, currently group financial controller, will take up her new post on 6 January, succeeding outgoing CFO Nick Maddock, whose resigned last October. Maddock will leave the business, and step down from the board on 6 January.

Baker, who has worked for the group for the past five years, is a chartered accountant and a chartered tax adviser.

Before joining McCarthy & Stone, Baker held various roles in industry and private practice, most notably at Barclays Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Chairman John White said Baker “has made an outstanding contribution since she joined the group in 2012 and she played a key role in our successful return to the stock market in November 2015. I and the rest of the board look forward to working with Rowan to help deliver our strategic growth targets.”

McCarthy & Stone is a UK-based retirement house builder of privately owned properties. The company offers retirement living for over 60s.
