Makinson appointed partner at UHY Hacker Young

Alex Makinson promoted to partner at Hacker Young's Chester office

ALEX MAKINSON has been promoted to partner at the Chester office of UHY Hacker Young.

Makinson joined the firm as an associate partner in 2002 from Welsh firm Williams Denton.

In the past 12 years Makinson has worked closely with owner-managed businesses, specialising in tax planning for directors and shareholders, and the residential and commercial property sectors.

The Chester office is one of the oldest accountancy firms in the country, having been formed as Haswell Brothers & Co in 1857. It joined the UHY Hacker Young network in 1992.

Makinson said: “Chester’s economy is recovering well, and that bodes well for the future of the firm, especially as our client base has grown steadily even through the recession. It’s an exciting time for UHY Hacker Young in Chester, and I’m eager to play my part in it.”

UHY Hacker Young is 16th in Accountancy Age’s Top 50+50 Survey of Firms, with £50m of fee income.
