Warsop takes on UHY Hacker Young chairman role

Howard Spencer steps down after 17 years' service, with not-for-profit sector expert Jon Warsop taking the helm

A NEW CHAIRMAN has taken the reins at UHY Hacker Young, following 17 years’ service by Howard Spencer.

Jon Warsop, a Hacker Young partner in its Nottingham office since 1997 who has provided a range of services to the not-for-profit sector, takes on the role. The firm’s London managing partner is Ladislav Hornan.

The priority for Warsop and the firm is to drive growth in the UK, and increase the UHY International Network’s presence.

Spencer added: “I am delighted to be handing the chairmanship over to Jon. He is a highly respected practitioner who has been involved in the growth of the Nottingham office, and I am sure that he will have every success in leading the group through the next phase of our growth.”

Warsop said that the firm will be looking to make the “maximum use” of its pool of expertise and referrals: “…It expands as we grow and makes us even better placed to deliver the best possible advice to the widest possible range of clients.”

The firm is ranked 16th in the Accountancy Age Top 50+50 Survey, with £50m of revenues for the year ending 30 April 2013, a 4% increase on the previous year.
