Extraordinary items - Bank with no name.
When we heard that Allianz and Dresdner Bank were to merge, we were reminded of our March 2001 article on domain name registration.
There we noted that the Dresdner home page was dresdnerkb.com because dresdner.com and dkb.com had already been snapped up by cybersquatters.
We also found that Dresdner has been targeted over possible mergers. For example, deutschedresdner.com is owned by Mr Syed Hussain of New York.
“Perhaps corporate IT departments should mop up such domains before they have to call in the lawyers,” we warned.
Obviously Dresdner ignored us. Who do you think registered allianzdresdner.com a day after the merger was announced? Stand up Mr Syed Hussain of New York.
